Planning sounds heavy. In practice, good planning is just one repeated move: turning a far-off goal into a number you act on this month.
Work backwards
Start at the end and divide:
- The amount you need.
- Minus what you’ve saved.
- Divided by months remaining.
That’s your monthly number. Everything else — forecasts, dashboards, advice — is in service of keeping that number honest.
Account for what’s already committed
If you’ve already set up an automatic transfer, that counts toward the pace. A good plan folds in what’s committed so you’re never double-counting effort.
Re-check, don’t re-plan
You don’t need to rebuild the plan every month. You need to re-check one number and nudge it if life changed.
Planning ahead isn’t about predicting the future perfectly. It’s about always knowing your next, smallest step.
Moza does this math continuously, so “what should I do this month?” always has a grounded answer. Your data stays yours — see how on our security page.
