Recurring detection finds repeating transactions — rent, salary, utilities, memberships — from your history, so you can see what's coming and plan around it. Detection is deterministic: Moza looks at the cadence, amount and merchant, not a guess.
How it works
- Moza detects patterns as you record activity and suggests a recurring series.
- You confirm or manage each one.
- Three distinct views organize your flow:
- Needs Attention (Pending Items): Your actionable attention queue. It surfaces imported transactions requiring review and overdue bills that are due today or earlier.
- Recurring Rules: Manages configurations. Focuses strictly on "What repeats?" (cadence, amount, pause/resume/edit/delete rules) without projecting future occurrences.
- Upcoming Timeline: chronological projections. Highlights "What happens next?" with inflows/outflows and status badges (Recurring, Expected, Scheduled, Overdue).
- Customizable Horizon & Visualization:
- You can customize how far ahead Moza displays scheduled payments on your timeline from the preferences menu (options: 3, 7, or 14 days; default: 7 days).
- Cards display the target account (Checking Account, Visa card masks) and cash flow origin source labels (
↻ Recurring · monthly,◷ Scheduled,↑ Upcoming). - The list sections are collapsible, with states persisted in
sessionStoragefor the current session.
Limitations
- Detection is rules-based (no AI).
- Irregular cadence or a changing amount is surfaced as a suggestion rather than applied automatically.
- Recurring detection tracks and projects — it doesn't move money.
Common Questions
How does Moza know something is recurring?
It looks for a stable pattern — similar amount, merchant and timing — across your transactions, then suggests it as a series for you to confirm.
Where do upcoming bills show up?
On the Calendar and on your dashboard's projection, so your end-of-month cash accounts for what's still due.
