Account inactivity and data retention · Moza

What happens to an account that goes unused for a very long time — and how to keep yours active.

To protect your privacy and keep data tidy, Moza has a retention policy for accounts that go completely unused for a very long time. The goal is never to catch out an active user — simply signing in keeps your account fully active, and you can recover an account at almost any point along the way.

How it works

Inactivity is measured from your last sign-in. A long-unused account moves through clear, recoverable stages:

  1. After about 24 months of inactivity — we send an email warning to the account's address.
  2. After a further 60-day grace period — if it's still unused, the account is deactivated (made inaccessible) but fully recoverable.
  3. After a further 60-day recovery window — the account and its data are permanently deleted.

Signing in at any point before that final stage fully restores your account and resets the clock.

Common Questions

Will my account be deleted if I don't log in for a while?

Only after a very long time. It takes about 24 months of no sign-ins to even trigger a warning email, followed by recoverable grace and recovery periods. Simply signing in keeps your account active.

Can I get my account back after it goes inactive?

Yes — until the final permanent-deletion stage, signing in fully restores your account and its data.

Does this affect paid accounts?

No. An account with an active paid subscription is never subject to inactivity removal.
