Funding & contributing to goals · Moza

Learn how to add savings to your goals, transfer funds from bank accounts, and use the Move Money tool.

Once you have created a savings or debt payoff goal, you need to fund it. Moza offers multiple ways to assign and transfer money toward your goals, keeping your bookkeeping clean and accurate.

Common Questions

Does saving to a goal affect my spending reports?

No. When you contribute to a goal from a specific bank account, Moza records it as a Transfer. This makes the action net-worth neutral and excludes it from spending or cash flow reports, since you are moving money rather than spending it.

Can I move money directly from a budget category to a goal?

Yes. Using the Move Money tool, you can transfer planned funds directly between any budget category envelope, unallocated cash, and your savings goals.

What is a planning contribution?

If you log a contribution without selecting a funding bank account, it remains a planning-only contribution. It increases the goal's saved balance in Moza, but does not deduct from any bank account balance.
